Hiking Review: Laguna Canyon Willow Staging Area Part III: Bommer Ridge Trail and Missing Link

Once I completed Lizard Trail, I arrived at Bommer Ridge, which runs along the top of the canyon, all in the sun, with plenty of mountain bikers. I turned left to go back toward the Willow Staging Area start to complete this loop. Off of Bommer, there are many options to take trails to Crystal Cove State Park.

Up to this point at the end of Lizard Trail, I had been hiking for an hour and 40 minutes. It would have been an hour, if I didn’t briefly venture off to check out Upper Laurel and Serrano trails.

Once Bommer Trail was reached, I chose to turn left which was the direction toward where I started, so I figured that would get me back to my car eventually.

There were two or three of these trail splits to take Crystal Cove State Park trails or stay on Bommer Ridge Trail. I chose not to take any of the Crystal Cove State Park trails this time —…
